What do you get when the growers of the country’s best organic vegetables take over their local pub? Chicken schnitzel with premium veg of course.

At $34, this is unlikely to be the cheapest schnitty around, but the massive hunk of golden crumbed free-range breast perched atop a nest of creamed potatoes, teamed with frighteningly fresh broccolini and carrots and lapped by a prodigious puddle of chicken sauce is something of a triumph.

With the dream to one day open a restaurant of their own where they could share the knowledge of regenerative farming with diners, the husband-and-wife duo jumped at the opportunity to take over the landmark pub.

Bringing in former Spicers executive chef, Cameron Matthews, the refreshed menu will capitalise on what is grown at the farm and include prime rib steak and roast potatoes, house-made calamari and honey miso carrots.
