To my loved ones,

Please join me in celebrating my 40th lap around the sun this Gemini season.

The last decade has been full of creation — family, the farm, JM and most recently, the pub. I invite you to Mapleton on the weekend before my birthday to enjoy an evening with those I hold dear.

The dress code is more formal than casual and the theme is: Art Nouveau — an era that brings together much of what I value: nature, design, beauty, innovation. Think ‘Met Gala’ style creativity, have fun with it, use it as an excuse to go a little wild or costume-y with your outfit.

Saturday 31st May

at Mapleton Public House
from 4pm until late.

Partners welcome (please RSVP separately), however, please no kids. This will be party vibes, as opposed to a sit down dinner and whilst my girls will be there for some time, it won’t be all night.

RSVP by 24th May

Some notes on theme.

Art Nouveau fashion was largely inspired by nature, particularly flora and fauna. It also drew inspiration from Japanese art and the Arts and Crafts movement. This resulted in clothing featuring flowing lines, organic curves, ornate floral prints, and delicate, often asymmetrical designs.

Flora: Art Nouveau designers incorporated stylized floral motifs, including flowers, vines, and tendrils, into their designs.

Fauna: Insects like dragonflies and butterflies, as well as birds, were also used as decorative elements.

Organic Forms: The natural world provided inspiration for the flowing lines, curves, and asymmetry that characterized Art Nouveau.
